FORNASETTI X CBM
Fornasetti supports CBM Italy's "Ukraine Emergency" campaign October 2022 – January 2023
Fornasetti launches the "United for peace" campaign, spreading the pacifist message by means of an exclusive decoration: the symbol of peace frames three different versions of the face of Lina Cavalieri, adding three new plates to the "Temae Variazioni" series. The Milanese Atelier has chosen to link the sharing of this call for peace to a charitable activity in support of CBM Italia Onlus, a humanitarian organisation which, in the context of the emergency in Ukraine, is committed to ensuring the rights of people with disabilities.
Through "United for peace", Fornasetti is contributing to the "Ukraine Emergency" campaign launched by CBM to protect the most vulnerable people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and, more generally, in the heart of Europe, donating part of the proceeds from the sales of the "Temae Variazioni" trio of plates. To be a part of the initiative, from October 2022 to January 2023 the new plates will be available for purchase at the Fornasetti stores in Milan and London and on www.fornasetti.com.
"United for peace" is part of an on going relationship that has bound Fornasetti and CBM since 2013, punctuated by artistic projects and collaborations of various kinds, including the 2020 project "United with the world" in support of the international "Covid-19 Emergency" campaign.
The support network put in place by CBM brings tangible help both to Ukraine – a country that has over two million people with disabilities-and to neighbouring countries; people who are more exposed to the risk of abandonment, violence and lack of access to safety – just think of shelters that are in accessible to wheelchairs. Incooperation with the European Disability Forum, an independent organisation that brings together associations of people with disabilities across Europe, CBM works alongside local organisations to identify and respond to the needs of the most vulnerable, ensuring that evacuation plans, shelters, transport, food and medical care are accessible to them. Initiatives already underway include the creation of a help-desk giving people with disabilities access to information.
The practical help of those who support the project by buying the new "Temae Variazioni" plates will make it possible to contribute to CBM's activities on various fronts to protect the most vulnerable.
